I think the hardest part of a wedding is the flowers, who the heck knows what kind of flowers they want? I like the pretty ones best...

Oh and ps- as long as I don't have to wear the dresses below as a bridesmaid, I'll be happy!!

Engagement Photos

Janet told me I am to find someone to teach you to dance and force you to get engagement photos done. So lets do that, but of course your photos should involve Bella... And prob me! :)

Bridesmaids

When I think about what I would ultimately like to wear to my best friends wedding I think about something fabulous, but when I think about how I want her pictures to look and how gorgeous I want everything to look together, I think that maybe going with a more generic look would be best. I know that Jcrew doesn't have the best fitting clothes, but we can always get them taylored. At the end of the day it's most important for the pictures to look cohesive and god forsaken Jcrew will allow that to happen. (I wish we could make it work with Free People!) What if we picked out a fabric and color, or maybe just a color, and everyone can just order their own dress. Here are some of my favorites from Jcrew in Jalapeno and Spiced Wine, I also love the idea of wearing are own shoes in a metalic gold or silver and maybe just maybe each of us having a sash that matches the wedding dress OR of the opposite color, for example if we are wearing all purple, silk green ribbon sashes that we could buy yards of at Michaels for super cheap. Regardless, I'm loving this idea despite the slightly lame idea of buying dresses from Jcrew. What do you think?

Houston, we have a Dress!!!

So we did it folks, we found the most perfect dress! It's elegant and classic, yet has a romantic, whimsical feel and I LOVE it! I actually teared up just the slightest bit seeing her in it. Truly gorgeous!!! Exciting as this all is, I can't help but say, that I was the one that pulled it of the rack and recommended that she try it on!!

We weren't supposed to be taking pictures, so my pictures aren't the best, but you must take my word, it's gorgeous! And here is a little shout out to our fabulous, wedding dress shoppers...

Thanks to plenty of coffee and inappropriate humor, we did it! Yay TEAM! Also a special thank you to everyone for supporting my poor graduate student self, I had a blast! NOWWWWWW, Sophie and Rain, we NEED bridesmaid dresses!!

NYC Bridal Excursion

Tomorrow the sisters of the bride (me and the future sister in law Sophie) and the mother of the groom are headed off to NYC for some good old fashion bridal fun. Not sure where the weekend is taking us, but I am sure it will be somewhere inspiring that will help us get this puppy up and ready. So excited to be a part of it all!!!

Invites and NYC!

Only a couple of weeks before our big bridal trip to NYC with the future inlaws!! Soooo excited to be a part of the fun. I've been seeing a lot of fun invites recenlty and I think that the one below is totally you. We need to tell people invited that this ain't no ordinary love fest! :)

And if someday someone decides that they want eternal Funk, I want my invites to say come for love stay for dessert like these because every Funk knows that the only important part of any celebration is the cake!

It seems like I am at the age where everyone is starting to get engaged. All of my college friends and many of my NJ friends are engaged, married, or have a kid or two. It's insane, that being said, I can't help but be just the teeny tiniest bit jealous. Here I am young, fabulous, (of course) and alone. BUT I must say that it's lovely to have your wedding to focus my efforts on instead of some looser I went to school with and couldn't care less about. Ooops, did I say that? I cannot wait for our NYC weekend and pre birthday time spent together!! Yayy for having the best adopted sister ever. Love you oodles.

Cakes....

Clearly the most important part about getting married is the cake. When I used to go to MFG's a lot with my mom, we would always Bredenbeck's bakery in Chestnut Hill and still they are my favorite bakery. My mom and I would always spend far too much time oogling their wedding cakes in the window and would always joke that we would buy one of their cakes just to eat alone. So... We should need to at least arrange a cake tasting there. The photos on their site are not super gorgeous, although I love the cake below from their gallery, but they have the MOST amazing cake.

BHLDN is officially up and running and I literally can't stand how it. I love everything on that site. I have said before that the clothes at Anthropologie break my heart they are so sweet, well this is even worse. I love everything about this site and luckily, it's really not overly expensive!! LOVEEE!
